Can the Tea Party coalesce? The early adopters of the Ron Paul r3VOLution, the patriotic Americans awakened by Santelli, and the teeming masses whipped into a frenzy by Faux and Fiends?
Wouldn’t that be something?
A recent survey from the Tea Party Patriots Organization is encouraging. Paul was the first to respond and it is quite the read. I especially identified with a comment that I want to highlight here but first, here are some choice tidbits from the survey:
Will you support complete repeal of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act?
Yes. One of my first acts as President will be to order all federal agencies to immediately cease enforcement of the unconstitutional national health care law. I will veto any bill that funds the national health care law, and I will work with Congress to completely repeal it.
Will you act immediately to bring down the national debt without raising taxes, and continue reducing debt to below the 2006 level?
Yes. My Plan to Restore America permanently extends all of the Bush-era tax cuts – including permanently repealing the estate (death) tax – and it balances the budget by the third year of my administration.
Will you repeal current executive orders that place unconstitutional burdens and/or restrictions on individual and state rights? If yes, which ones?
I will repeal all Executive orders that infringe in any way on the 9th and 10th amendments or overstep the President’s constitutional limits.
Will you support a full audit, repeated annually thereafter, of the Federal Reserve Bank, and publish the full results online?
Yes. For years, I have been the leading advocate in Congress for a full audit of the Federal Reserve. I have continued that fight in this current session of Congress by reintroducing my Audit the Fed bill (which has almost 200 cosponsors), and, as President, I will stay at the forefront of the battle to hold the Fed accountable.
Will you require the entire executive branch to comply with standard transparency laws (“sunshine laws”), implement proactive disclosure, including full compliance with all FOIA requests?
Yes. I will repeal all executive orders and fight other federal policies that are inconsistent with maximum transparency in government.
Do you believe that government creates jobs efficiently?
No. The federal government cannot create good, productive jobs that meet the needs and wants of the people. This function can only be served by the free market.
Is a Balanced Budget Amendment an approach to fiscal responsibility that you would support? If yes, what are the key elements of a Balanced Budget Amendment that you would support?
I would support a Balanced Budget Amendment as long as it contained limitations on taxes. Otherwise, an amendment may be used as an excuse for large tax increases in the future.
There are essay questions and all. Paul lays it down and I look forward to seeing the other candidates try to match it. Kinda like an upcoming gymnastics event in political pandering… As Doug Wead might say, “What fun!” Get the popcorn…
Anyway, getting back to the point updating this blog, which is much more serious, there are plenty of great comments on the blog last I checked, but one in particular struck my eye. I’ve traveled the country extensively in this r3VOLution and met supporters from almost every state, and for people wondering about “them Ron Paul Supporters” this comment represents many, if not most of us:

My Christian, Constitutional Fiscal Conservative, Pro Tea Party, Pro Strong Military Defense & Pro Israel Family will vote for the only Constitutional Fiscal Conservative, Pro Strong Defense, Pro Israel, Military Veteran & Medical Doctor & the Godfather of the Tea Party Movement running for the office of President of the United States of America. His name is Dr. Ron Paul.
Dr. Paul’s unwavering & proven ability to keep his oath to defend the US Constitution in its entirety & his consistent Biblically principled approach in all matters cured our apathy. We are thankful that we don’t have to sell our rights & our country out to another status quo donkey politician dressed in an elephant costume.
For those parroting the talking heads on both Fox & MSNBC please take time to research & compare actual voting records before speaking against something you have been completely & intentionally mislead on. My family understands where you are coming from. We thought the same way you do now. We use to listen to the self proclaimed “conservative” opinions of O’Reilly, Hannity, Levine, & Limbaugh to name a few.
However, when we took the time to research & compare each candidates verifiable voting records we were awaken BIG TIME to the corruption & intentional deceit being perpetrated on the American people by ALL of the networks…quite frankly we are shocked Fox even allows Judge Napolitano’s show to air. Once someone learns the truth they don’t become fair weather flip flop supporters of Dr. Paul.
This election is bigger then just making Obama a one term President. America can’t afford to elect yet another double speaking, double minded progressive politician. If the American people don’t become informed with facts & cast a principled vote based from truth then yes Obama will win reelection & it wont be the fault of Dr. Paul supporters.
The only one’s to blame will be the “establishment” propaganda arm of the government known as the mainstream media & those who were too lazy to research & learn the truth & think for themselves.
As a Christian conservative family we refuse to be enslaved by another big government, power hungry, ego mania politician who is owned by special interest. We want an honest & principled leader who is a proven constitutional conservative who will enact fiscally conservative policies that will strengthen our economy, our military defense & our God given freedoms which in turn strengthens American families who have been suffering at the hand of these morally corrupt & oath breaking politicians.
We will only support & vote for the 12 term elected Congressman from Texas. We stand with him now as he has stood for us in the face of all the naysayers & assaults against our Constitutional Republic.
“There has been now three elections & a total of 37 delegates have been chosen so far…less than 2%…like one & a half percent…this is the beginning of a long hard slog!” (Ron Paul speech after SC primary)
Dr. Paul, Keep picking up those delegates toward Restoring America! Our prayers & financial support are with you for the long haul. Blessings!
I remain honored to be a part of it…
Well, another fanatic is dead. While I will cry no tears for him and expect The Lord will deal with him justly, I do cry for my countryman who seem to think it is OK to ignore the rule of law when it suits their purposes. This is a slippery slope to hell and I hope my fellow Americans take the time to honestly look at the big picture.
First, lets look at the immoral aspect.
In the 10 Commandments is, “Thou Shalt Not Kill”. While it is fairly obvious that this would not apply in terms of self defense, one could question why Jesus directed his followers to put down their swords when the temple guards came to arrest him saying, “Those who live by the sword will die by the sword.”
While I do not expect any human to have the strength of character of Jesus and will not condemn any act of self defense, I still think this is relevant because the killing of this fanatic was not during a battle. It was the execution of a US Citizen without due process and, as expressed after the killing of Osama, there is a fear that “vengeance will become synonymised with justice, and that revenge will supplant ‘due process’.”
A slippery slope.
There is a longstanding ban on assassination as a matter of stated US foreign policy. Any argument that this was an act of self defense does not hold water and US citizens have protections under the US Constitution, specifically the 5th, 6th and 8th Amendments:
5th – No person shall be … be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.
6th – …the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury…
8th – …nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.
Assassination is an unusual punishment, otherwise there would be no ban on it. There was no trial and no jury. And the wartime exemption of the 5th cannot ignore the phrase “due process of law”. This was an extrajudicial killing. Plain and simple. The only way this layman can see it being sanctioned under the rule of law is if it was during a firefight.
While treason can be a capitol offense, it is only applicable after due process. From the US Constitution:
No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
Here I repeat the title of this post:
Assassination is Immoral and Illegal Under US Law
Now, I have seen some say that this fanatic was no longer a US Citizen due to The Nationality Act of 1940 and credible reports of him waging war against the US. But a close reading of this act sees the relevant parts to be in Sec 401, specifically part (h):
committing any act of treason against, or attempting by force to overthrow, or bearing arms against, the United States, violating or conspiring to violate any of the provisions of section 2383 of title 18, United States Code, or willfully performing any act in violation of section 2385 of title 18, United States Code, or violating section 2384 of said title by engaging in a conspiracy to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, if and when he is convicted thereof by a court martial or by a court of competent jurisdiction.
That last bit I bolded reiterates the need for due process, according to the rule of law. It is relevant that this same language is repeated in the later Immigration and Naturalization Act in Sec 349 (7)
This is the law.
Again, while I will not mourn any enemy of this great country. I will mourn the loss of the liberty that makes this country great. The loss of adherence to the rule of law.
The moral high ground.
Finally, I’d like people to consider the slippery slope and where it may lead. Many people are not aware of the MIAC Report (and subsequent leaks from DHS) that revealed the Federal Government is labeling peaceful freedom loving Americans (and returning military troops) as “rightwing extremists”
Does the following apply to you?
First they came for the racists, but I did not speak up because I am not a racist
Then they came for the muslims, but I did not speak up because I am not a muslim
Then they went after libertarians, but I did not speak up because I am not a libertarian.
Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak up.
Mutual commitment to society is a moral code; a value known as charity. IMO it is a natural trait of humanity rooted in the instinct of “survival of the species”. Charity has always existed, whether based on a government model or not.
History teaches us that Big Government solutions merely create bigger cracks for the unfortunate to fall through. Intentions aside, this is a fact. No human system is perfect, that is another fact.
So the question regarding social safety nets becomes one of, “which system insures the greatest peace and prosperity for the widest swath of humanity?”
I follow the lead of Dr. Paul, and those throughout history who have shown that the republican form of government does this best. A system where power flows up from the common man:
History reveals that this is the most “ideal balance” so far developed. Unfortunately, this system is out of balance and has been turned on its head over the last many decades. This is what the Ron Paul r3VOLution strives to re-balance. And I believe what Ron Paul means by: Restore America Now
I fully believe that our system is supposed to be one of community empowerment, not national dictates. And I believe adherence to the rule of law, the US Constitution, provides the greatest peace and prosperity to the widest range of individuals.
I had to drive downtown today to pick up a friend on Wall St & bring him to the airport. The area was on lockdown and luckily I left early. Via politeness and patience I was able to make it through the gauntlet, all the while remembering who and what has been lost. Returning, I walked through the streets from parking; streets thronging with NYFD is full dress. Some were in groups quietly laughing, others alone & emanating sadness… All I could think of and say was, “my condolences”
Jack Hunter had this to say and more, “The last decade has been a tragic one in countless ways.” You can read his blog @ Ron Paul 2012
My hat is off to Ron Paul Forums member Lafayette for taking on the task of poring over the 2011 Q2 FEC Report to discern where the candidates are getting their support from. Here is the text of his post about it:
So i remember last election Dr. Paul had more military donations then all candidates combined ( both R’s and D’s)
So ran through the numbers on FEC site http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2011/Q2/
I based these numbers off the employer section. Anyone who described their employer as military.
Army, Navy ,Air Force, National Guard ,Costa Guard, Marine Corps and Dept of Defense.
An this is what i have come up with so far.
*Now these numbers are not 100% accurate, i may have missed one here or there. *
Total $15398.00 *updated*
The Good Doctor comes in more than double all the other Republican candidates combined.
Paul $ $36739.79 *updated*
** Update** After going over Obama’s numbers again it seems i missed quite a bit. There were some questionable donations but i added them in anyway.
Obama – $28833.99
Total Candidates (minus Paul) – $44231.99
Paul does not beat total donations of all other candidates combined, however hes still comes in double the Republican’s combined and #1 out of all candidates.
Any help going through Romney’s and Obama’s donations would be much appreciated as there is a lot of information to be double checked.

For people new to the candidacy of Ron Paul. He mostly raises his money from small individual donations and is famous for inspiring his Grassroot supporters to create a fundraising technique known as a MoneyBomb, where everyone agrees to donate on a single day. The next is two days from now and is branded “Ready Ames Fire”. Please join us. I can assure you that everyone I have convinced to join in this effort has told me that they feel it is money well spent. You can sign up for a reminder on Facebook here:

One other thing about the FEC Reports:
Lots of people will remember the headlines in mid May that proclaimed Mitt Romney raising $10mil in one day on May 16th. The FEC Report however reveals the actual number was $2.4mil. Not sure who was being dishonest here, but a supporter made this excellent graphic:
Let’s unseat Obama together – Onward!
Attending a NYC-GOP social event, I had a talk with the Chair, Dan Isaacs. He had mentioned in his remarks about the need to let Obama know that NYC is not completely liberal, and that there are conservatives here. He wanted a “GOP Welcome wagon”…
Having just moved here to NYC, I figured one way to get in good graces (with any org, anywhere) is to be helpful participants, I said that we might be able to do something…
We ended up coordinating a two stage plan. NYC Liberty HQ would attempt to get into the front-lines in Times Sq while the Metro Club folk staked out the high-end eatery where Obama was holding a $37,000 a plate dinner.
So, the problem for us was getting past the Advance Team (DNC Staffers who look like Secret Service, but direct crowds/etc to insure the best media “shots”) and onto the front lines. To accomplish that we created signage that was easily transformed from Pro-Obama to ridiculing him.
BY the time advance found out what we were up to it was too late. Drove one of them nuts. He tried to send a few different cops to shut us down. But my answers were correct and “we had every right to be there”
Who is in charge? No one. We are independent citizens.
What is the name of your group? What group?
But, you are here together… protesting? Naw, we’re not protesting, We’re welcoming 🙂
Good, well you guys have every right to be here!
LOL – That convo was with an LT and everyone the advance sent after us after that I just sent to go talk to the LT…
No permits, and freedom prevailed.
Note that we placed ourselves right where the Motorcade made a turn
and directly in front of the news trucks where they were taping for broadcast
Then, after marching around a bit through the crowds, having a few reporters stop us for their story,
and generally just causing laughter in the streets, we headed up to where the Metro Club crew were stationed nearby O’s dinner venue. Not as much action there, but they were glad to see us arrive and triple their numbers…
A good day in NYC, we had LOTs of pics snapped and video shot, might have gotten the signs into some news broadcasts (searching now), a few print interviews, and our local was GOP happy to see us.
A good day. I wonder if Saul approves 😛
I have developed a very wide tent on Facebook, (and I love you all. We may not agree, all the time, and I may think a few of you are… interesting, but I really do hold love in my heart for all, even our fiercest enemies…)
Anyway, I saw on my wall today a picture expressing vehement dislike of my man, Ron Paul and felt compelled to engage. I added a comment to the pic and then browsed over to this friend’s wall to take a gander. There I saw another anti-Paul post telling all Paul supporters to “GET OFF HER SITE!”
I politely engaged in that thread, and had a bit of a back and forth, enough for her to come take a gander at my page where I found this:
While I always look back seeing where I could have worded things better, I think that adequately answers her question, (and note that she has not deleted my posts from her wall, even though she was egged on to do so by friends), but in case anyone wonders what “group” I will stick my neck on the line for, perhaps this video I put together, using a friend’s song, will hint at that.
Please watch this entertaining video that asks down to earth questions.
and tell us what you think.
[EDIT] a reader on Facebook suggested I add this companion piece. (Great idea, thanks)
I remember my Dad with a warm smile and am sure he approves of my present course. So, in that vein I’m going to make a Father’s Day post about another much beloved “family guy” and father figure. Dr. Ron Paul.
As you can see, he has brought a lot of his own into the world, (in addition to the over 4000 babies he delivered as an OB/GYN M.D.), and if you look, you can clearly see that it is a duty to those children, to posterity, that drives this man to stand up, often alone, against leviathan government. Character and courage; aren’t those still ideals for any father (or leader) to exemplify?
What really inspired me to write was this thread that appeared in Ron Paul Forums where a supporter posts his pics from meeting Paul at the SRLC, (because often-times pictures are worth thousands of words). He says,
…Then Dr. Paul came out of a room and went into the registration room. So, me and my wife went in and got to talk to him and got pictures. Mrs. Paul also talked to my wife, again held my new born, and gave her to Ron Paul to hold and we got pictures.
The pics reminded me of other pics I have seen of Paul, with children, that reveal an un-staged earnestness so refreshing in politics today. Whether they be strangers…
or his own…
The status quo always likes to claim they are “doing it for the children”. Paul makes no such claims, he just keeps humbly doing it. Leading, by example.
Happy Father’s Day Dr. Paul, you are a re-founding father to many.
For more personal background on this true “Family Values” candidate you can watch this early campaign biography
or this “candidate breakfast” video from 2008
and a Happy Father’s Day to all of you readers who fit the bill…
People have been starving for principled leadership. Hence why so many are enthusiastic about unseating Obama with President Paul. The RLC Straw poll win is more evidence of Paul’s ability to “get out the vote”. The established GOP should not mistake exuberance with disloyalty (to principles), nor should anyone discount the priceless value of such grassroots going up against Obama’s Billion…
